There are over 200 entries to the Martin Library Poetry contest each year and it is a great encouragement to a young writer when their writings are recognized. My 9-year-old daughter placed 3rd place in the 3rd and 4th grade category. K has always enjoyed writing. I have stories she drew and illustrated when she was only 4-years-old. She has journals FULL of poems, stories, drawings, and song lyrics. Writing is indeed something she loves.
