When I Go Down This Lane...

This is a beautiful picture to me. When I open this gate, and drive down this lane, I am going to my Grandma's house. Grandpa has been gone for eight years now.

When I go down this lane I am going to the place where I spent every Christmas Day growing up (and many since I've grown up).

When I go down this lane I know I'm going to talk to my Grandma about the Bible, cooking, sewing, and taking care of my family.

This picture was taken on June 23, 2010. This was the last time I saw my Grandma. I just found out tonight that Hospice has taken over her care in the nursing home. As I left and drove away from Grandma and down the lane to the highway, I cried the entire way. I knew in my spirit that this was the last time I'd see my Grandma. I can't explain it - I just knew. We live in PA, Grandma lives in MO. It takes 18 hours to get to her. Shortly after this visit, Grandma started having strokes and had to go to a nursing home. I am sad, but I also have peace because Grandma KNOWS Jesus as her personal Savior. I am sad, but rejoice in knowing when all her pain and suffering ends, she'll be greeted by her Savior, Redeemer, Healer, and Friend!

Please pray for the Lord's comfort during this time.
