Pulling Weeds

My family and I were recently gone for 11 days. When we returned home, you can see what welcomed me home at my front door - WEEDS! As I walked around my house, I could not believe the size and amount of weeds that were growing everywhere. I'm the type of person who sees a weed and immediately pulls it up (root and all). I learned a couple of lessons after being gone for 11 days. The first lesson I learned was how quickly a flower bed can get out of control with weeds, which led to a spiritual lesson about how quickly my life can be consumed and taken over by sin if I do not pray, confess, and pull up the sin (root and all) every single day. May Psalm 139:23-24 be the prayer of my heart every single day.

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

love this scripture! I too have been welcomed by weeds but can't get a good go at them due to rain :( .

I SOOooooo know what you mean about the weeds having a party whilst you're away. They really don't take long to get a footing at all, do they?
Of course, welcome back, and hope you're all refreshed! :)
