Amazing Science, Volume 1

As a member of the TOS Homeschool Crew, I was given the opportunity to review a product from Science and Math called "Amazing Science, Volume 1." This product is a 2-disk DVD set and covers 23 different science experiments. These DVDs teach fundamental principles of science like electricity, magnetism, heat, temperature, pressure, surface tension, buoyancy, and many more. Each demonstration gives you a visual demonstration (which this visual learner loves), and most importantly it explains the science behind each experiment.

Here are the experiments included in this DVD set:
Color Changing Milk
Egg in a Bottle
Exploring Air Pressure
Build a Lemon Battery
Inverted Cup of Water
Candle Suction Power
Amazing Magnetic Force
Lift an Ice Cube with String
Matchstick Speedboat
Cloud in a Bottle
Reversing an Image With Water
Floating Eggs
Keeping Paper Dry Under Water
Dry Ice Bubbles
Balloon in a Candle Flame
Ocean in a Bottle
Build a Motor with Lights
Simple Lava Lamp
Invisible Ink
Density Tower
Soda Can Fizz
Build a Motor #2

I believe this DVD can be used in two ways. The first way is a teacher can use the DVD to help prep her to teach the lesson, and the second way is to watch with your students, pique their interest and then do the experiments together. I know my children can't wait to actually do many of the experiments we watched together. I wish I could have video recorded their reactions to many of them because they were priceless. They were shocked and amazed by the results of so many of these experiments and it was fun to watch and listen to them!

DVD: $19.95 plus shipping and handling
