As a member of the TOS Crew, I was given the opportunity to choose which Curiosity File I would like to download and and use with my children. I allowed my 9-year-old son to choose, and I was just SURE he'd choose to learn about dung beetles, but he chose to study about zombie fire ants instead.

It has been a while since the children and I had done a unit study, and I have to say it was just the fun mid-year break from the "norm" we needed! We gathered around the computer and read all about zombie fire ants, and laughed together and got totally grossed out together too. We had fun exploring geography, math, and even doing a little writing, and copywork together.

I am happy we had the opportunity to review this unit study. I needed to be reminded of the great fun unit studies can be and I plan to do more.
