Weekend Moments

I had a weekly wrap-up post in my draft folder, but I just didn't get around to it. This weekend we're too busy having fun and I'm thankful for fun family times!

Today, my husband and I are celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary! The children are going to bed early while we cook one of our favorite meals together. We call it "At-Home Date Nights." We've been doing them for years, and it has actually been a while since we've planned a special night at home for us to enjoy.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, and enjoy every moment! This "living in the moment" stuff is something I'm working on right now. My mother used to tell me that all my worrying about tomorrow ruined today. It's true! I worry so much about the next thing that needs to be done, that I don't enjoy my current moment. Oh, how much I miss. I miss giggling with my children because the laundry needs to be folded. I miss listening to my son read because I have to go fix lunch. I miss really listening to my husband because I must cook supper. So, I'm trying to slow down, enjoy these moments, and not focus so much on all the things that need to be done.

How are you enjoying your weekend moments?

Nikki,
Thanks for your sweet comment! I am liking Sonlight so far....we are still so new in homeschooling that we are still adjusting to everything in general! Any tips on Sonlight? My flu bug seems to have settled, and now I have a cold! ICK! I also have an 8 year-old. Since we pulled her out almost 4 weeks ago, I am feeling like I isolated her. Is this "normal"? Feel free to answer at my e-mail address: nickiordave@live.com. Thanks so much!

Happy Anniversary! We celebrated 16 years of marriage Friday night with an at home date. Our girls made a wonderful dinner. No sending them to bed early anymore (oldest is 15).

I think at home dates are very special!
