Road Trip Snacks

Before a long road trip, we always pack our own snacks. This helps us save time when we make stops and money! Trail mix is often expensive, so we make our own and it is very simple. We mix raisins, peanuts, and M&M candies. When the trail mix is all mixed together we scoop out 1/2 cup portions into individual ziploc bags and this helps make snack time easier and less messy in the van!

What kind of snacks do you buy or make when you're on a road trip?

OK, I'm having a "duh" moment. I don't know why I never thought to mix up my own trail mix! I love this stuff and it really is quite pricey.

Heidi, the possibilities are endless here! The only problem with this particular mix is my 5yo little girl only ate the chocolate candies from her bag a couple of times:) She's a mess though!

OK, yeah, this one is so simple, gonna swipe it for our road trip coming up in July! Thanks for the idea! Things I like to pack are:
hard boiled eggs in the cooler, muffins and of course have to have something fun so usually I bake up a big batch of cookies!

Pink Slippers, I thought about hard boiled eggs, but worried about how long they'd be good. Now that I know this is something you've done, we will definitely pack some for our next road trip! They are such a healthy source of protein for a snack.

You gotta love trail mix.
One of our faves is a cookie mix: mini nutterbutters, mini oreos, and min chips ahoy chocolate chip cookies. Toss together and you can add a few M&M's.
