Mother's Day 2010

Mother's Day is truly bittersweet for me. This is my 7th Mother's Day without my Mother. The day is bitter because I miss my Mom. Sweet because of all the memories made with her, and all the memories I'm making with my own children, and bitter again because she's not here to make memories with her grandchildren. When she was in the midst of her 3-month battle with cancer she told me, "Nikki, I wish when I get to Heaven, the Lord would give me a picture of my grandchildren just so I could see how they look all grown-up."

For all those who call Jesus "Savior and Lord" we do not drown in despair - we rise in hope because we know this life on earth is only a vapor (James 4:14, NASB) and our time in eternity in Heaven is well, eternal.

I believe in Heaven I'll get to see my Mom's smile, hear her laugh again, and I pray she will also finally get to see all her grandchildren all grown up. I'll be given the gift of a never-ending visit with her in glory!

I am so glad you posted this! That must be so hard for you. My mother-in-law passed away last year, so Mother's day will never again be the same for us either.

(hugs)

Blessings,
Mrs. White

She was an amazing lady. I loved her so much. You, Kim and Mandi are such great moms. She'd be so proud of you, and the grandkids! Love you!

That is a lovely picture of you and your mom. I like to think of those we've lost in heaven...face to face with Jesus...worshipping and smiling. I pray you had a wonderful mothers day with your sweet children.
