AVKO ~ TOS Review

As a member of the TOS Crew, I received a one year membership to AVKO. AVKO is a non-profit organization that helps parents and teachers teach dyslexic students how to read, spell, write, and type. Many people give testimonials that whether or not you have a child who struggles with dyslexia, AVKO has a lot to offer you and is a sound reading, writing, and spelling program.

I had never heard of AVKO before until I received this free online membership. Navigating around their website was confusing and I struggled finding resources that I believed would be a great benefit for our family. But, if you have a child who struggles with with dyslexia, or you think your child may have dyslexia, a look around this website might give you some answers you've been looking for. Take a look at the freebies they offer on their site.

Here are some of the things included in a membership with the AVKO Foundation
  • $25/year
  • Access to Members Only site
  • 25% discount on all AVKO printed materials
  • Hundreds of dollars worth of free e-books (PDF format)
  • Newsletter
  • Access to recordings of Don McCabe's workshops in mp3 format
  • worksheets, activities, and more to supplement your curriculum
If you are currently using curriculum offered through AVKO, I would encourage you to take a look at the benefits of online membership. If you have a dyslexic child and they do not seem to be making any progress, then please take a moment and look around this foundations' website. Read some testimonials while you're there.
