America's Heritage: An Adventure in Liberty ~ TOS Review

The American Heritage Educational Foundation (AHEF) is a non-profit, non-partisan educational foundation committed to teach our nation's history from four valuable themes: freedom, unity, progress, and responsibility. The creators of this resource state: A nation built on these ideas and theories cannot possibly survive if those same philosophical and historical principles are not studied, taught, learned, practiced, and reinforced in our schools and institutions attended by the next generation of young people. Click here to read more on why our country's survival is in mortal danger.

This is a FREE resource that provides supplemental material to enhance lessons for students in elementary, middle school, and high school levels. As a member of the TOS Crew, I received the CD from AHEF to test out and use with my family.

The elementary lessons include these topics:
  • Colonial America
  • Declaration of Independence
  • A Famous Signature
  • George Washington
  • U.S. Presidents
  • The Great Seal
  • Thanksgiving
  • The United States Flag
  • The Star Spangled Banner
  • The National Motto
  • The Statue of Liberty
  • The Pledge of Allegiance and Creed
  • America The Beautiful
  • What is an American?
Recently, I printed out the lesson on The United States Flag. Each lesson states the purpose, objective, theme (freedom, unity, progress, or responsibility), core knowledge, time it will take to complete the lesson, materials required, and what you need to do in order to prepare for the lesson. In this lesson the children will learn about the symbolism of the flag's colors, flag code, design their own flag for their family/school, discuss, and journal about what they've learned. As we progress through our study of American History, this resource will be a wonderful addition to our studies.

This resource comes in CD-Rom format and is a free educational resource. You do have the option to purchase a printed version of this resource for $19.50 for each level (elementary, middle, or high school). Click here to order American Heritage supplemental curriculum today.

I really appreciate you sharing your faith in God and your passion for teaching your kids. You are a great example to the world. I am excited about this link you've shared and I'm excited to teach my child about our wonderful American heritage. Thanks again!
