Children and Chores

After dinner each night, the children usually help clear the table. But, this week they started helping wipe down the table and chairs, and sweep the floor. The children have all decided they will keep the same job instead of rotating each week. T will wipe down the table, L will wipe down the chairs, and K will sweep the floor! It's great! By the time I get the leftovers put away, and all the dishes in the dishwasher. the children are done cleaning up the dining area! I am thankful to have children who are very helpful!

What chores do your children do to help out around the house?

That is very nice of them. What big helpers. :)

I love to see busy little beavers...they are so cute.

Yes we all have chores except the baby. We do a different room every day of the week. One has base boards. One dusts shelves or tables. One cleans windows...and so on. My oldest is now old enough to vacuum and it's a big help. They love to pitch in and I need the help. It's a good match. :)

I need to work on this area. My children help with the dishes, sort the laundry, and pick up the toys that scatter everywhere. I'm pretty sure they can do a bit more than that. ;)

Stephanie, we used to have the same system as you (one room each day of the week). Now it seems like we do it all on the weekends. My kids reminded me a couple weeks ago about the "old" system and said they liked it much better than the new:) Thanks for the reminder. Now, if I could just get my act together:)
