Math Tutor DVD ~ TOS Review

This is it! If I can post THIS review before we move on Saturday, I will have met my TOS Crew goal! WooHoo!!!! Here we go...

As a member of the TOS Crew, I received two DVDs from Math Tutor! I had never heard of this company before, and I was excited about checking them out!

The first DVD I would like to share with you is called "Young Minds, Numbers and Counting." This is absolutely perfect for my preschooler! The images on this DVD are gorgeous and you can tell this DVD is professionally done! The DVD does a great job of capturing the child's attention and not only exposes them to numbers and counting, but also to beautiful classical music, and gorgeous images of God's Creation and the world we live in! Click HERE to go and read about all the rewards this DVD has won, and to watch a short video clip from the DVD.

The second DVD we received is "The Basic Math Word Problem Tutor." This is an 8 hour video course. We have watched some of the basic introductory lessons and were impressed with the instructor. He really explains to the children how important it is to be able to do word problems and why. He takes the student through the problems slowly, step-by-step, and does a great job teaching! Click HERE to read more about this DVD and to see images from the DVD.

This is a 2 DVD Set and lessons include:
Disc 1
Section 1: Adding Whole Numbers
Section 2: Subtracting Whole Numbers
Section 3: Multiplying Whole Numbers
Section 4: Dividing Whole Numbers
Section 5: Adding Decimals
Section 6: Subtracting Decimals
Section 7: Multiplying Decimals
Section 8: Dividing Decimals

Disc 2
Section 9: Adding Fractions
Section 10: Subtracting Fractions
Section 11: Multiplying Fractions
Section 12: Dividing Fractions
Section 13: Percents, Part 1
Section 14: Percents, Part 2
Section 15: Ratio and Proportion

As a parent who educates at home, I am thankful to know about this company who makes having a math tutor affordable for upper level math classes such as geometry, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus! Their DVDs range in price from around $24.00 to $36.00. This is MUCH more affordable than paying for a tutor, enrolling your child in an online course or academy!

Pricing Information:
Young Minds Numbers and Counting DVD: $24.99
Basic Math Word Problem DVD: $26.99
