Our Study of Thomas Edison
We recently wrapped up a short study on Thomas Edison. He was a fascinating man and we all learned so much while reading "The Story of Thomas Alva Edison" by Margaret Davidson. When we finished the book, the children completed the lovely notebook biography page pictured above. I found the notebooking page over at the Notebooking Fairy's website.
Some things we learned:
He went to school for a very short time. His mother pulled him out because the teacher thought he was "addle brained" so she taught him at home.
"Why" was his favorite word.
He did his first experiment when he was only 4-years-old.
He lost his hearing when he was a boy.
He had a vacation home in Florida.
He was born in Ohio, but lived most of his life in the state of New Jersey.
